De botanische naam is Juniperus communis. De olie wordt gewonnen door middel van stoomdestillatie van de bessen. Het is een waterig-witte of lichtgele niet viskeuze olie. De geur is fris, kruidig, houtig-balsemiek, terpentijn- en peperachtig, rokerig.   Waarvoor wordt deze olie gebruikt?
